SEVENTEEN year-old Peter Howell of Okehampton Golf Club has continued a tremendous run of form winning back-to-back events over the weekend period.

On Sunday his gross 73 was good enough to win the Tiverton Junior Open. Jay Carroll, also from the club, completed the clean sweep with first place in the handicap competition.

Peter went out the next day to win the 18-scratch category at the County Summer Medal at Ilfracombe with a level par round. This follows his victory in the Spring medal and he is now leading the County U18s’ Order of Merit.

It follows an exciting, but less slightly successful week, in St Andrews for the Scottish Boys Open where he competed with a strong international field of 150 of the best juniors.
