IT was another busy week at Okehampton Golf Club on Saturday with an individual Stableford competition for the Stuart Wilson Trophy.

The winner of division one and the trophy was Steve Peake with 41 points. Ian Moore was second with 40pts after count back from in third James Hall.

Division two was won by Mitchell Hunt with 40pts, Jack Cornwall was second with 38pts and Ricky Wooldridge was third also with 38pts.

Roger Halliday was the winner of division three with 40 pts; Stuart Brealy was second with 39pts and David Stallion took third place with 38pts.

Sue Wiliams and Maggie Caws won their way through to the final of the inter-club County Veterans knockout which was played at Yelverton Golf Club. After a close game throughout they managed to overcome their opponents from Thurlestone Golf Club to take the trophy.

A ladies’ three ball better ball open competition was also held and the overall winners with 73 points were Marcia Jones, Marcia Collett and Mary Keir (Okehampton); second overall were Jackie Seager, Caroline Cooper and Tricia Swindell (Honiton) with 68pts. Best combination was won by Sue Williams, Sara Tunstall and Bee Baker (Oke/Libbaton) with 68pts and the best visitor prize was taken by Sue Burley, Nina Hawkins and Gail Davies (East Devon and Truro), Exeter ladies Debbie More, Sue Gannon and Lyn Beavers won second visitors’ prize with 60pts.

Graeme Ross, Ivan Caws and Rod Milsom-Smith won the latest Seniors’ competition scoring 55pts with one to score on the par fours, two to score on the par threes and all to score on the par fifth tenth. Barry Ratcliffe, Adrian Tilley and Dennis Edwards were second on the same score but with a lower back nine holes.
