OKEHAMPTON Community Recreational Association have a busy programme planned to keep youngsters fit and entertained during the October half term.

On Tuesday October 28 and Thursday October 30, OCRA are holding sport and art days for six to 14-year olds. Potential sports include football, tennis, basketball, and on the Thursday there will be swimming in the afternoon session. The sessions run on both days from 10am to 3pm, with the first child of the family costing £9.50 and each additional child costing £7.50. Children will need to bring appropriate indoor and outdoor clothing, packed lunch and drinks.

Wednesday, October 29 is a fun day for youngsters who like horses or gymnastics, with horse riding and a gymnastics camp running throughout the day. The morning's gymnastics camp is open to boys and girls aged eight to 16-years old. All abilities are welcome. The sessions runs from 10am to 1pm and costs £8. In the afternoon there is horse riding on Dartmoor at Eastlake Stables. Ten to 18 year olds can take part in the two hour ride from 2pm to 4pm. The session costs £20 per person. Friday, October 31 is a bushcraft and outdoor adventure at Alder Lake from 10am. Children aged eight to 16 can cook on the camp fire, make some environmental art. The session runs until 3pm, costing £15 including lunch.
