Okehampton ladies earned a deserved awat point at Ottery in their first game since Christmas.

A dominating first ten minutes saw Oke make a break into the attacking half. Great passes from Molly Marvin and Lucy Wiseman saw a pass into the D be deflected a few times by the goalie, only for Emily Rowlands to skim it into the goal after some frantic shots. However, Ottery quickly reacted to this and despite the best defensive channeling and tackling by both Nicky Pedrick and Helen Dalton, the opposing team managed to break and get a lucky goal. Okehampton retaliated to this with more superb runs from Nicky Strawbridge and Sophie Whitely weaving around the Ottery players, which allowed Hannah Whitely to have numerous shots in goal. A green card for Amanda Sim after determined defending allowed Ottery to dominate some more.

However, they did not manage to get a goal in this time, but quickly achieved one soon after, despite Alice Wiseman’s diving saves. In the second half, Oke came out striving for some more. Debutant Zoe Curtis used her speed to cut down the wing, allowing Laura Parsons to push into the D and deflect a perfect pass to Rowlands, who slotted it into the corner of the goal.
