OKEHAMPTON boys' U14s hockey team played in the last round of the Devon Hockey Tournament on Sunday.

They started with a spirited performance against Marjons; the two sides were evenly matched and even though both sides had their chances to score, the game finished in a 0-0 draw.

Against Ashmoor, Oke deservedly took an early lead before Ashmoor began to take control of the game and they went on to score three goals to win 3-1.

Starting the final game in a hail storm which was followed by heavy rain, Oke were unable to get into their stride and Ottery Crickets won 2-0.

With most of the players still in their first season of hockey, the side have shown tremendous spirit in all their games which gives encouragement for the future.

The hockey club are most grateful to Davidsons IFA in Okehampton who have supported this side throughout the season.'
