South East two

Teign 2

Okehampton A 3

THE game started well for the away side with great wing play by Stuart Jarvis and Ollie Cockayne forcing Teign to defend deep.

Jack Watson came close to putting Okehampton one up but his strike was well saved by the Teign goal keeper.

The game was stopped for 10 minutes while left back Zac Middleton received treatment after he was struck by the ball straight on this nose.

While Okehampton were down to 10 men Jacob Lloyd went on one of his custom maize runs to pick out the unmarked Chris Luxton who slotted the ball into the empty net.

As the first half  drew to a close Teign were awarded a short corner which  they converted 1-1 half time .

At the restart Okehampton started to dominate the play . Simon Bourne had an outstanding game at right back. Alex Emus delivered well in midfield as did Tim Morgan.

Luxton had a good chance to put the side 2-0 up after he deflected a hit in from Lawson, but the  ball  just skimmed past the post.

Man of the match Jack Watson causing the home side all sorts of problems and put the Oke ahead after  Luxton saw his snap shot well saved by the Teign keeper,  but Watson was on hand to snap up the loose ball and fire home.

Teign were awarded another short corner after great defending by Bourne who  cleared off the line!  The short corner was driven home despite the best efforts of Hayden Bond.

The winning goal came as Luxton again drove towards the back line and found Watson who beat his marker to the ball and cooly slotted home!

This was a great all round team performance.
