OKEHAMPTON Judo Club students make good progress through the British Judo Council Syllabus at BJC gradings, demonstrating technical ability, Judo etiquette as well as attack and defence fighting skills.
BJC club grading: Primaries (under 10 years old), Aedan Lethbridge (three red tabs), Ciaran Lethbridge (one red tab), Cara Dixon (three orange tabs) and Hannah Harbron (two orange tabs); juniors (under 16 years old), Ben Bowles (orange belt, one green tab), Henry Harbron (orange belt, one green tab), Jay Ratcliffe (yellow belt, two orange tabs), Corey Friend (yellow belt, one orange tab) and George Brain (yellow belt).
Alfie Budd, Matt Jelley and Nicki Budd, successfully completed the two day BJC fundamental principles of Judo coaching course to qualify as level one coaches (Alfie Budd qualifies as a coaching assistant due to age).
Sensei Darren Bostock thanked all club coaches for their help with the club grading. He says judo is a great way to build confidence, self control and respect. It teaches traditional Judo and its values and welcome visitors of all grades and organisations into its Dojo.
