Devon one

Totnes 38

North Tawton 19

SOME days things just do not go a team’s way, the ball will not sit up for them but it does for the opposition — and it was one of those afternoon for the visitors.

North Tawton travelled to the South Devon club in high hopes of finishing the year with an away win but a poor start with a conceded try in the first five minutes meant that they were always chasing the game — one which, as it went on, went further away from them.

The forwards struggled to get any clean ball to get the backs up and running.

From a North Tawton point of view the refereeing decisions did not go in their favour but to be fair to the home side Totnes played a good game and, as the final score suggests, won well scoring six tries with four conversions to give them the bonus point.

North Tawton, as usual, never gave up and touched down three tries of their own by Alex Dennis. Ben Sharp gave the score some respectability.

All in all it was perhaps a match to forget for the North Tawton who look forward to coming out refreshed in the New Year.
