Axminster Town 3
South Zeal Utd 7
AXMINSTER started on the front foot and only some good defending and some good saves from South Zeal keeper Oliver Holman kept the scores level in the first 20 minutes.
However slowly South Zeal started to get their passing game going and they took the lead when Redd Cann bent a great shot into the far corner from 18 yards after some good work involving Garry Smith and Daniel Gibbs.
The visitors went two up 10 minutes later when Tom Reilly found Harley Cann with a raking 30 yard pass and Harley finished with a great shot from the left hand side of the penalty area, Harley then scored his second just before half-time after a good run from Darren Gilbert set up the chance.
Axminster pushed forward in an effort to get back into the game in the second half but the South Zeal defence held firm and the visitors went further ahead with goals from Darren Gilbert and Harley Cann, who completed his hat-trick, to put them 5-0 up.
Axminster scored three goals within the space of five minutes and with 10 minutes to go they battered the visitors' defence but a goal apiece for Darren Gilbert and Harley Cann made the game safe for South Zeal and gave them the three points they deserved.
