OKEHAMPTON Hockey Club men’s team played Isca B in the final of the Devon Trophy on Saturday.
A disappointing start for Okehampton meant they went in at the break 0-3 down and with a lot to do. A rousing half time talk inspired Oke, and Sam Whalley opened their account with a well taken drag-flick from a penalty corner to which Isca responded with another goal against the run of play. Okehampton continued to press forward searching for goals and were rewarded when a quick break gave Luke Miller the chance to score. The game finished at 4-2 to Isca.
This was a disappointing result on the day for the Okehampton side, but a fitting end to what has been a successful season for the squad.
