Okehampton ladies' seconds 0

Teignmouth ladies' seconds 0

THE scoreline belies the excitement of this fast-moving and competitive game. Everybody worked hard right until the closing seconds where it still seemed possible for either side to score — both the risk of losing and the chance of glory was high to the end.

There was superb passing, unforced errors, desperate tackles and goal line saves and everyone left the pitch exhausted. Okehampton created its best chances when its wingers gave the width to the game, with Emma Wiseman in top form.

Hope Jewell sprinted across the pitch for Okehampton several times caused much anxiety in the Teignmouth defence, which produced several short corners which the home side were unable to exploit.

Anna Speak and Holly Davidson tirelessly worked the field, one moment feeding the attack and then the next racing back to defend Okehampton's circle. Sandy Douglas did some superb runs up the field; sweeping the ball away as the last defender and taking it all the way up the field. Alice Wiseman, in goal for Oke, stopped everything on the few occasions that it got past Douglas, including 'one on one' duels. Debbie Pritchard was Okehampton player of the match.

This was a great game to finish this half of the season; it is just a shame, from Oke ladies point of view that they did not get the goal to finish off Teignmouth.
