OKEHAMPTON LADIES’ THIRDS 0
TAW VALLEY LADIES 3
OKEHAMPTON started strongly with Chloe Stairs and Alex Collins moving the ball forward to be received by Jess Bowles just outside the D; unfortunately for the homeside it did not make it into the back of the net.
Taw Valley seized the opportunity to get the ball back and it was only the tight defensive play of Sandy Houston, Louis Rowlands and Sarah Bazeley that stopped them getting into the D.
The ball was swiftly passed back up by Mary Nelson, Oke player of the match, to a waiting Emma Pike who again moved the ball towards the goal; the visitors were strong in defence so the ball headed back. Rowlands was straight on it and passing the ball out to Ligaya Coatham the play moved forward once again.
The game continued in this fashion until some great play saw Taw break through the Okehampton defence and after a one on one with goalkeeper Laura, the ball was eventually pushed around the back and popped in by a waiting player.
Okehampton did not sit back, and again attacked but narrowly missed out on a goal. After a penalty corner Taw scored again. Jemima Vereker was subbed on and with new legs for Oke the ball was passed around at speed but unfortunately it was not enough to change the final score of 3-0 to Taw Valley.
