SOUTH Zeal's run in the cup came to an end at Ashwater on Saturday when the teams drew 2-2 after extra time with the home side going through after an extended penalty shoot out.
South Zeal dominated the first half and after several near misses and a turned down penalty claim. The visitors finally took the lead when Scott Hooper put Harley Cann through and the latter finished well from 10 yards.
In the second half Ashwater started to play and after going close on several occassions equalised when a header from a corner came back off the post and hit the luckless Harry Geering and rebounded into the net.
South Zeal took the lead in the first period of extra time when a free kick from Tom Reilly was headed home by Harley Cann but the home side equalised in the second period from the penalty spot.
Both teams could have won the tie in extra time as the home side hit the post and a Harley Cann header went close. It left the outcome to an exciting penalty shoot-out which was won by the home side to put them through to the quarter final.
