AN armed robber forced open a till at knifepoint at Okehampton Costcutter during a dramatic robbery on Saturday, July 9.

A police spokesperson said that the member of staff was approached by a man with a knife demanding that the till be opened. When the staff member refused, the armed robber forced the till open, grabbed money and fled from the scene of the crime on Exeter Road.

Sources have said that the man was seen running towards the Giblands estate.

Armed robbery is a serious offence and the police are very keen to hear from anyone who has information about this crime.
