DESPITE dreadful weather, there was a warm welcome and a hot bacon bap to be had at St Boniface RC Church’s annual autumn fair held recently.

Mayor of Okehampton Cllr Paul Vachon kindly braved the elements to open the fair at the Charter Hall and an impressive £1,634.12 was raised to support the church and the various good causes the church helps throughout the year.

A spokesperson for the church said: ‘It was great to see such enthusiasm from our own parishioners who gave their time so freely and donated items for the various stalls.

‘It was also good to have support from the local people of Okehampton who bought raffle tickets, items from the stalls and just sat and chatted over a coffee.

‘If you helped in any way, no matter how small, thank you. Watch out for next year’s event.’
