HALF term finished with a razzle dazzle for staff and children at Highampton Area Pre-school as they celebrated with a circus day.

Over the past few weeks, children have been learning balancing skills for tight-rope walking, juggling using their own hand-made juggling balls, and stilt walking.

The day was made complete by some wonderful make up and costumes.

The children and staff have much to celebrate, following a fantastic Ofsted report in the autumn term, and two members of staff being awarded their NVQ Level 2.

The inspection assessed the pre-school as being good in all areas of its provision, and the inspector commented that children were cared for and nurtured by staff.

She also commented: 'Children are clearly happy, confident and secure in the pre-school's calm and relaxed environment.'

The pre-school is now looking to deveop links with other providers and is keen to encourage parents to become even more involved.

Children, parents and committee members are also celebrating the achievements of Wendy Rose and Germaine Andrew, two of the pre-school assistants, on the awarding of their NVQ Level 2. Their achievements mean all of the pre-school staff have achieved nationally recognised qualifications.

The group meets in Highampton Village Hall and operates on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays between 9.15am and 3.15pm.

There are also drop in toddler sessions on Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Children are welcome unaccompanied from two years upwards.
