BELGIAN boys and Baroque are coming to Okehampton to light up the town with their magical music.
All Saints Church in Okehampton will be the venue for a magnificent free concert by a Belgian Boys' Choir and a Baroque Orchestra on Tuesday, August 19.
The choir, 'In Vehementi Spiritu', and the orchestra, 'Praeludium Vitae Aeternae', are touring the UK and are appearing at a number of other venues in the South West.
They will be performing a wide range of sacred music, including well known pieces by Grieg and Bruckner.
All Saints has been developing its potential as a concert venue in recent years, making the most of its idyllic setting and superb acoustics.
The Two Moors Festival will be offering two whole days of music there in October and it has recently been the setting for a performance by the world renowned accordionist Alexander Korbakov.
Rector of All Saints the Rev Stephen Cook said: 'We are eagerly looking forward to the visit of "In Vehementi".
'Every performer that comes here seems to go into raptures about how wonderful music sounds in this amazing building. I think this will be an experience not to be missed — and it's free!'
Further information about In Vehementi is available from their website http://www.invehementispiritu.be">www.invehementispiritu.be
The performance starts at 7.30pm and refreshments will be available in the interval.
A retiring collection will be taken for church funds.
