HAVE you seen an elephant around North Tawton? If so, the ANTS want to hear from you!

The drama group is looking for a wooden elephant figurine with its trunk raised to use as a prop in its next play.

Director Tracey Norman said: 'Our show, "Murdered to Death", is best described as Inspector Clouseau meets Miss Marple.

'It is a hilarious comedy, which opens with a particular move involving the elephant figurine, which sets up a gag later on. So it really is essential for us to find an elephant.'

Members of the group have been scouring charity shops and car boot sales, but so far elephants have proved elusive.

Tracey said: 'If anyone has a wooden elephant figurine they would be happy to lend us — preferably not a family heirloom — we would be very grateful indeed. We can promise that it will be well looked after.

'It needs to be clearly visible to the audiences, so has to be about 12 inches tall.'

If you are able to help, Tracey can be contacted on 01837 880276.

ANTS' production of Peter Gordon's 'Murdered to Death' will run from March 17 to 19 March, with performances in North Tawton Town Hall beginning at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £6 and £4 and will be on sale from North Tawton Post Office.
