NORTHLEW?Silver Band celebrated its centenary last year and will again be producing two events in the village this winter.
On Friday, November 9 band members will be playing and leading the carnival procession to the traditional bonfire in the village square.
Fany dress entrants can access the Victory?Hall from 6pm to prepare for the judgiung and prizegiving at 7pm, after which the procession takes place.
Entries are from toddlers to adults and have been as young as two and as old as . . . well, quite mature! The band encourages as many as possible to make the effort to join in the fun.
During the bonfire, refreshmnets will be served in the church room with hot dogs, burgers, tea, coffee and cakes available.
On Monday,?December 10 the band concert takes place in the Victory Hall at 7.30pm with local musicians and guest artistes performing, in addition to a selection of melodies from the band. Carols will also be performed and a special guest visitor is expected to arrive.
