THE seconds pulled off a fine win against a team that was playing a division higher last season.

Manager Jamie Ware marshalled his resources well and although the team did not always click, it showed real promise for the future. Midfielder Dave Smith helped solve a goalkeeper shortage by agreeing to play between the posts and excelled in the role.

The Argyle goals were scored by Ricky Drew (2), Brad Ausden (2) and a Matt Sanders (penalty).
