An Okehampton councillor and Royal Navy veteran is calling on veterans to make contact over plans to mark the 40th anniversary of the end of the Falklands War in June this year.
Cllr Kevin Ball, speaking as an organiser for the local branch of the Royal British Legion, said: ‘We are looking to do an event around the 40th anniversary of the conflict in June.
‘Details are yet to be confirmed, but it will involve a remembrance service in St James Chapel. My key plea is for anyone who either went to the Falklands or who had family members who went there to get in contact with me. We hope to tell their stories as part of the event.’
