RAIL campaigners from Okehampton attended Great Western Rail’s Community Rail Conference.
Cllr Mike Davies, chair of OkeRail Forum and Devon County Councillor Kevin Ball visited the conference to continue to put forward the case for a daily passenger service from Okehampton to Exeter.
The pair met with Mark Howard, the managing director of Great Western Rail to discuss the future of Okehampton’s railway.
Mike Davies said: ‘We have a good team within OkeRail and we are continuing to put the case for our daily passenger service to many different people and organisations.
‘We need to keep up the momentum until the new Okehampton Parkway Station is built and the new daily service established. I am still waiting for further details from the Department for Transport regarding their proposed trial service, but I am waiting in anticipation.’
