The organisers of the Chagford Show have announced the cancellation of this year’s show due to the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions.

A date has been set for next year’s show, however, and all those who had a stand booked at this year’s show are being contacted to be given the option of a refund or carrying the booking over.

The show management said in a statement: ‘It is with great regret that in the light of the Covid-19 pandemic, the directors of the Chagford Show have taken the difficult decision to cancel this year’s show. The safety of our visitors and volunteers is of paramount importance to us and we felt that it would be impossible to run the event safely.

‘We will now start planning for the 2021 show which will be on August 19 2021, assuming everything is back to some sort of normal, and we look forward to welcoming you then.’
