SOME of the best fighters in Europe came to Okehampton for an 'international fight night' event at Parklands Leisure Centre earlier this month.

The centre hosted a series of contests between fighters from Britain, Holland and Poland, with many holding national, European and world titles.

Among them were several fighters from Okehampton, many who have progressed to international level through coaching at the Chaos Gym.

Stuart Lord of Okehampton Com-munity Recreation Association (OCRA) said it was great to have such a prestigious sports event held in Okehampton.

Organisers said they hoped Okehampton may host similar events in the future.
