Since reforming last year the Hatherleigh School Choir has grown in size and strength.

The choir, led by Naomi Cross and supported by Jane Fawcett, in the first part of this term prepared for their first ever appearance in Exeter Cathedral.

Choir members were delighted when they heard they had been accepted to participate in the Barnado's Charity celebration concert .

The concert was held last Wednesday to an almost full cathedral of more than 1,000 people.

Twelve schools from all over Devon were invited to take part. Hatherleigh Choir, made up of 32 children aged between 8 and 11, sang two songs and formed part of the mass choir at the start and end of the programme.

The organiser thanked all the children for taking part and for their contribution towards the fundraising event.

The choir would like to express their thanks to Waitrose and their customers for their support.

They were able to appear in the Catherdral Concert wearing new tops purchased through the green token scheme.

After half term the choir will be looking forward to preparing for Christmas and its appearance at the Rotary Club Christmas dinner amongs other engagements.
