FATHER Christmas and the mayor of Okehampton, Cllr the Rev Mike Davies, were the guests of honour at a Christmas coffee morning on December 23.

The coffee morning was organised by Okehampton Rotary and the Inner Wheel Club, with coffee, cakes, and preserves.

The 1st South Zeal Scouts were also at the event, raising money for the Devon Explorer Scout Icelandic Expedition 2014.

A team of 45 young people from across Devon, including scouts from the 1st South Zeal Brigade, will travel to New Zealand for two weeks at the end of July.

The trip will serve as a wonderful opportunity to meet other young people from all over the world and experience different cultures and lifestyles.
