FOUR women from Okehampton helped raise money for charity when they walked from Newton Abbot to Bristol this month.
Donna Wills, Sally Wilson, Wendy Whitby and Kay Grundon took on the challenge in aid of the Wallace and Gromit Grand Appeal, which fundraises exclusively for the Bristol Children's Hospital and St Michael's Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
The team, who raised more than £2,500, set out on Friday, June 4 at 7am and walked towards Exeter through Pinhoe. They arrived at Uffculme around 32 miles later.
The following day they set off at 6.30am and made their way towards Taunton and Bridgwater, where they stopped at Highbridge after 36 miles.
The women were greeted in Bristol by cheers from family and friends who showed their support for the walk which, with help from other participants, raised £6,000.
The dedicated team expressed thanks to everyone who supported them throughout the trek.
