DEVON and Cornwall Police have announced further courses as part of their ‘safer drones’ initiative.
The safer drones course is run by members of the Alliance Drone Unit, the first fully operational drone unit in UK policing — and offers the public the chance to understand the rules and laws surrounding safe drone use.
Andy Hamilton, former police inspector and now team manager for the Alliance Drone Unit, said: ‘This workshop is a great way for drone enthusiasts to understand fully how to fly your drone safely, legally and responsibly.
‘These workshops are run by a police drone operator and covers the law, do’s and don’ts, pilot responsibility, privacy matters, drone code and much more.
‘The initial safer drones workshops have been a huge success which is why we are rolling these out wider than before. They only take three hours, are a lot of fun and at the end we hope to make safer and more responsible pilots.’
