ZEST Youth Triathletes Emily Attfield, 10, and Pete Jarman, 12 travelled to Taunton to take part in the last of the series of South-West Triathlon fixtures for 2009.
They took part in the junior aquathlon in the grounds of Queen's College.
Both athletes competed in the tri-star two age group – 14 lengths of the pool followed by a 2000 metre run.
This is a multi-discipline sport, a continuous race of swimming and running, with the clock starting as they enter the pool and stopping as they cross the finishing line of the run.
Emily came fifth with a swim of 5mins 04secs and run of 8mins 39secs and Pete came fourth with a swim of 4.15mins and a run of 8mins 45secs.
Emily and Pete thanked their coach Paul Chinn and also Tavistock Athletic Club and Tavistock Swimming Club for their training this season.
