Sidmouth B 1
Okehampton A 1
ON a cloudy day the Okehampton team started well with good passing and defence. The visitors had Sidmouth wrapped up in there own half, kept putting pressure on their defence and tested the keeper early on but a good counter attack from Sidmouth lead to a goal.
However, Oke never dropped their heads. After seven minutes of good pressure, Stuart Jarvis passed the ball out wide to Simon Bourne, who put a ball back into the opposition 'D' and a good sweep from Adam Cockayne saw the ball go into the back of the goal. From there both sides looked strong but neither could score. Jacob Lloyd had a good reverse hit denied.
After half time both sides came out with great passages of play — Sam Whalley and Lewis Day making good passes and making spaces for others. The defence of Ian Miller, Scott Bending and man of the match Will Cooper held out the strong attacks from the Sidmouth side with the help of Tim Morgan. In the final five minutes play switched from end to end.
Hayden Bond with the help of Ian Miller denied the hosts a late goal.
