A PUBLIC open forum is being staged in West Devon next week, to discuss all aspects of local food growing.
The event, being hosted by Tavistock and Villages Development Forum and Westden, will cover allotments, community supported agriculture and garden/landshare projects.
Max Laithwaite from Westden said: 'Basically, at Westden we have been hit with a lot of questions from people in the local area, wanting to know about allotments, community agriculture and growing stuff.
'It may be that they are elderly and they want to put their garden to good use or people may want to share resources.
'We decided to bring it all together in one space, invite people who have already been doing work on this kind of thing and just open it up to public discussion, to get some questions answered really, and see what sparks from it.
Max said everyone interested in growing food and sharing land, resources or experience with others was very welcome to come along.
Held in the town council chamber in Drake Road, Tavistock, the 'GrowTavi' forum will feature speakers from Westden's School Community Landscape Network (ClaN), Home Grown Community Owned (HogCO), Tamar Grow Local, Transition Tavstock, Tavistock Town Council, West Devon Borough Council and Devon County Council.
The event starts at 2pm and will finish at 4pm on Tuesday April 13.
