THE 'Forest Garden and Orchard' at Okehampton College was the perfect setting for the recent launch of a new book on the environment and climate change.
The second open day of the Growing our Future garden saw local environment organisation Growing Our Future and other community participants exchanged food, words, thoughts, music, films, and workshops.
The weather was glorious and offered the perfect climate to launch the publication of the GOF research book 'What's the World Coming to?' The publication focuses on historical, scientific, social and environmental research, looking at the local community and landscapes; its puts the emphasis on empowering people to take action towards a positive and cohesive future.
Ffion Farnell, from Growing Our Future, said: 'We, the community of Okehampton, are working together to transform our local environment. Four dedicated individuals were asked to contribute writings to our book as an informative, active and enjoyable response to climate change.
'We hope that our publication will inspire you, to help you question your surroundings and encourage you to move forward into a world where relationships are based on trust and a commitment to sustaining our environment now and long into the future.'
