HALDON Young Farmers held their annual group rally at Okehampton Show where there were over 300 entries. They varied from cookery, crafts, photos, to the tallest sunflower and longest dock leaf.

We had a competition for guess the weight and name of the ram, which was called Lenny and weighed 79kilos. This was won by Ethan Pearce. Many thanks to Bradley Bowden who supplied the ram.

We also had 'Guess the baby' competition, where the general public had to match baby photos to a recent photo of all the group officers. This was won by John Maile. A huge thank you must go to Mole Avon who once again sponsored the prizes of the two competitions and the individual member's awards.

The junior (under 16) with most points went to Ethan Pearce of Cheriton and Tedburn YFC. The boy with most points went to John Maile, of Okehampton YFC. The girl with most points went to Gemma Bowden of Cheriton and Tedburn YFC. The Club with most points went to Cheriton and Tedburn followed in second place by Okehampton and then Bow.

Many thanks to all the judges who spent their morning with me going through the high standard of entries. Thanks go to our very well behaved pony, which attracted a lot of children into our marquee.
