THE Carlton Cinema in Okehampton was the setting for a new venture by the town's Inspiration Church. The church hired the cinema to screen Faith Like Potatoes, which tells the true story of South African farmer Angus Buchan. Angus suffers a series of seemingly unsurmountable losses, but discovers a belief in Jesus which changes his life. Okehampton's mayor Cllr Paul Vachon was a guest at the first Inspiration film event. Mike Davies, who organised the event, said: 'To be honest, the numbers of those that attended probably exceeded my expectations with only four seats empty. 'I am extremely appreciative of those who came to see the film and also to the Carlton Cinema for their support. 'It is great to go out to a film, we thought it would also be good to have some food and drinks afterwards to build on the social side of the evening.'  At the reception Chris Bourne shared a little of his experiences of having attended an event organised by Angus Buchan in South Africa in which 440,000 people attended.
