INVICTUS Games cycling champion Andrew White was honoured by Okehampton Town Council on Monday night.

Town mayor Jan Goffey presented him with a framed copy of the Mayor’s Award at the start of the full council meeting in the town hall.

Andrew, 23, from Okehampton, returned victorious from the recent Invictus Games in Canada, a championship for wounded or sick armed service personnel, with gold and silver medals.

‘It’s an amazing achievement, not only to take part in the Invictus Games but also to come away with gold and silver medals,’ said Councillor Goffey. ‘We were so impressed.’
