President's Day at Okehampton Golf Club took place on Saturday, hosted by club president Ted Boswell.

A large field took part in a four ball better ball Stableford competition.

The winners with 46 points on the back nine were Matt Soby and Paul Prouse; second came Rod Milsom-Smith and Rob Jones also on the back nine from, in third Nick Heath and Rod Wright. Fourth place went to the pairing of Paul Skidmore and Richard Reid with 42 points.

Best mixed couple with 40pts went to Nick and Lin Atkinson.

Last Wednesday the ladies section competed in the 27 hole, club championship.

The 2011 club champion was Abby Turner with a magnificent 117 — resulting in a reduction of handicap to nine. Second was Marcia Guy with 125 and third was Penny Deakin with 130.

The 2011 handicap champion was Sue Stanbury with a net 106, and the Handicap Champions Cup went to Marcia Guy with a net 108.

A separate 18 hole Stableford competition was played for the Vick Rose Bowl and was won by Doris Jewell.
