THE newly revamped Charter Hall had its official opening last weekend, with Okehampton's mayor cutting the ribbon and welcoming its first visitors.

Over the last few months, the hall has undergone a series of renovations work, including to the floor, walls, lighting and curtains. Mayor of Okehampton Cllr the Rev Mike Davies hosted the mayoral coffee morning, giving anyone interested in seeing the alterations to the hall the chance to come along.

Town councillors were also in attendance to meet residents and discuss issues affecting them.

The morning is organised each year to raise funds for the mayor's charities. The current mayoral charities are Children's Hospice South West and the Okehampton Duke of Edinburgh Award. Both charities were present to promote their work.
