East Budleigh 1
Chagford 3
CHAGFORD shook off their February horrors to chalk up a superb win against their second placed hosts. The match settled into even, early exchanges, without either side looking too dangerous. Chagford gradually played their way to a dominant position.
A couple of enforced changes actually paid dividends, de Cruz slotted in comfortably on the right of defence and Mortimer looked equally at home on the left flank. It was the latter that helped set up Oscar Emanuel, following Kinsey's strong play, for an easy opener and a half-time lead.
Ten minutes after the break, Emanuel and Matt Mortimer again combined for Mortimer to finish superbly. Tim Williams took the captain's armband and led his defence masterfully. A moment of hesitancy in Chagford's area gifted East Budleigh a goal, 15 minutes from time, but their visitors were in no mood to go home empty-handed. George Pitts, who had come on for the industrious Gavillet, settled the match with a well taken third on 80 minutes. Unfortunately, a hamstring pull limited Pitts' time on the park and he left to be replaced by Brown. Chagford had little trouble in running down the clock, gaining a morale boosting victory.
Robbie Miller has taken charge of the team as player/manager and was quick to praise the efforts of the whole side. This was an important result for Chagford to keep alive their hopes of going up. .

THE Reserves made it two wins out of two and recorded another clean-sheet in the process.
Goalkeeper Saul Scarry was welcomed back for his first appearance in three months, following surgery. It took Chagford a good ten minutes to find any rhythm and, despite a couple of near misses, Uplowman were restricted to efforts from distance. Going forward was Chagford's forte, Hambly and Haxton linking well on one flank, Woof and Rowe on the other. Unfortunately, the teams' finishing was not too good; however, Whatley and Woof were unlucky to have 'goals' ruled out by the referee for offside.
Although Uplowman's 'keeper was the busier, Hambly seeing a shot cleared off the line and Ralph having one saved.
The second half started with an early goal. The visiting 'keeper touched Woof's driven cross onto his post but James Hambly was there to blast the ball in from close range. Within minutes, Jake Rowe snapped up a chance after great work from Jerome Whatley and Gavin Forsey. Whatley was rewarded with the third goal as Ralph fed the ball through, the goal taken well. David Jordan was presented with the fourth goal, after he had taken over from Rowe who had worked his socks off.
