WITH reference to the letter sent in by Mrs Gilmour (February 5) — she must feel sad for a great deal of her life, judging by the number of animals etc seen dead on the road, or does she not notice them if they aren't on the ring road?
There are probably more small creatures crushed underfoot when she is walking with her group, off-road, in the first 100 yards than you would see on the ring road in 12 months or more. But then you probably wouldn't notice them in the grass or heather.
As for the other point she makes, about the ford, well it is not a case for calling on the rescue services, but it's down to you to get your own help, and if you have to pay for it, so be it.
I don't think the points she makes are very convincing as reasons to close the ring road to the public.
