A BUSINESS based in Sticklepath has developed an innovative engine for smartphone apps being used by heritage sites across the UK.

Imagemakers are an interpretation strategy, consulting and design business working in the heritage, cultural and tourism sectors. They plan, design and implement interpretation schemes for heritage sites, visitor centres and museums throughout the UK and overseas.

They recently launched 'i-explore', an app engine designed to help the heritage sector embrace digital technology and increase learning and participation.

Based on the classic children's game I Spy, the apps designed around 'i-explore' combine visitor information with game dynamics to engage those using them.

Organisations using the 'i-explore' engine in their apps include Natural History Museum, Edinburgh World Heritage, and the Bridgewater Canal Trail.
