WAITROSE in Okehampton, which became the retailer's first branch in Devon after opening 14 years ago, will unveil a new look when it re-opens on Friday, August 1. The School Way store has undergone a major refurbishment in the last eight weeks, including a new bakery, enhanced service counters and new customer toilets. Customers will also benefit from new eat-in areas throughout the store. The works will also create a more energy efficient branch, including a water cooled refrigeration system which will reduce the store's environmental impact and LED lighting throughout the building, which will deliver 50% energy savings. Branch manager Laura Grant said:?'The opening of Okehampton marked a significant milestone for our business as the first branch in the county, despite Devon's farmers and producers supplying our shops elsewhere for years. 'It's importnat we don't lose sight of maintaining the high standards we set ourselves in our older branches. 'We are delighted to welcome back our customers into a completely rejuvenated branch and we can now provide shoppers with an even better customer experience which we hope will attract even more people to the town.'
