There was a good turnout from Okehampton Running Club for the Bicton Blister last Sunday with 14 members taking part. This truly multi-terrain race starts from Bicton College and after a short road section the course runs over the heathland of Woodbury Common with woodland paths, sandy and stony trails, river crossings and some mud!
The runners were rewarded with stunning scenery on a beautiful sunny day though a brisk wind made some sections even harder work. First ORC home was Roger Voaden in a time of 1.09.09.
Karen Skye was Okehampton's first lady home taking second place in her age group and coming fifth lady overall in 1.20.45. Jane Jackson also claimed a category prize winning the FVet55 in 1.32.27.
Other ORC times were: Nick Seccombe 1.14.24; David Mugliston 1.17.58' Mervyn Rice 1.25.12; Tim Watson 1.26.51; Alistair Watt 1.27.23; Lucy Skye 1.27.54; Detlef Schoenfeld 1.29.01; Chris Aylen 1.35.50; Brian Welham 1.36.25; Sarah Haigh 1.38.19 and Deborah Cunningham 1.40.28.
