RESIDENTS of Okehampton are being offered advice for healthy living through confidential one-to-one clinics being run by the NHS.

The new healthy lifestyle clinic is being launched at Parklands Leisure Centre on Friday May 20, and will be held every Friday from 9am to 11am.

The clinic will be run by a team of health trainers, and is open to everyone over 16 years of age on an appointment basis.

Victoria Banks, an NHS health trainer in Okehampton said: 'If you are 16 years or over and are looking to become more active, want to eat a healthier diet, reduce your alcohol consumption or stop smoking, then our team of health trainers can help.

'We work alongside other health professionals to offer the community a flexible and accessible service.

'We are here to help you make positive changes in your life and to support you in working towards a healthier lifestyle.

'We run one-to-one clinics where we help people to develop a personal health plan and offer a six to eight week period of support and advice to help you achieve your goals.'
