Okehampton Golf Club hosted a three ball two to count stableford competition for the Wilson Shield on Saturday, March 12.

The winners of division one were Steve Mander, Richard Salter & Clare Salter with 83 points while in second place were Mark Bennett, Gary Carey & Lee Pengelly with 81 points. Meanwhile, in third were Paul Douglas, Mark Hubbard & Alan Stokes with 77 points.

Division two was won by Stuart Brealy, Bill Tucker & Rob Jones with 80 points while Paul Rattenbury, Trevor Chapman & Paul Ayris were second with 79 points and Alan Dunn, Adrian Rice & Tom White came third also with 79 points.

The ladies section were practising for the coming season with a match play competition between Lady Captain Judith Ezard’s team and Vice Captain Diana Johnson’s team. It was a very close result in the end with the captain’s team winning by a narrow margin. Okehampton golf club was founded in 1913 as a nine-hole course and extended to 18 holes in 1923.
