PLEASE say thank you to Tony and Christine Dion at 74, Fern Close, Okehampton, for their precise opinions, publicised in the paper on September 13.
They said everything as it is and will be if the Boundary Committee's proposal for a unitary authority council run by Exeter goes ahead. Everything for Okehampton, its villages area etc will be decided by them; they have no knowledge or rights to say what, when how things will be done for Okehampton town and its areas.
We have managed ourselves, our town and villages fine and do not want a council all the way in Exeter city run our lives for us.
So please, residents of Okehampton town and villages, save our freedom from this unitary authority by writing your views and posting right away before September 26 to please register your views against the unitary authority council proposed by the Boundary Committee.
