MORECARE Chagford Association will be officially installing a new seat for public use at Meldon on Tuesday at noon.

Following a donation from a generous benefactor, Morecare has placed a seat at the base of Meldon Hill adjacent to the road.

The seat will provide a place for people to relax and enjoy the exhilarating air and magnificent views from this moorland beauty spot. The location makes the seat readily accessible, especially for those who have limited mobility or are disabled and who might like to sit and enjoy the view while friends climb to the top.

Morecare has been operational since March 2004 and a registered charity since November 2006. Morecare volunteers help residents of the Whiddon Parishes (Chagford, Drewsteignton, Gidleigh, Throwleigh, Hittisleigh and Spreyton), as well as residents of other parishes who are registered at Chagford Health Centre, who are in need because they are sick, housebound, aged or disabled. It is an entirely voluntary non-profit organisation.

Anyone wishing to request Morecare's assistance, or anyone who is interested in volunteering their services for this very worthwhile cause, is invited to phone 07914 853 726.
