A WEST Devon publisher is celebrating, after securing a second series on an award-winning national radio station.
Clickety Books, based in Okehampton, has secured a second series of audio storytelling episodes on the Fun Kids digital radio station.
The company publishes books, audiobooks and resources designed to help the development of speech and language in young children in an effective and engaging way.
Each of the audio episodes, narrated by celebrities including Rik Mayall, Ronni Ancona and Catherine Tate, is based on one of the publisher's books.
Full of repetition, rhyme and rhythm, they each focus on a target sounds that helps children develop the speech and language skills that are the building blocks for reading and writing.
The series will be truly interactive, with free games and puppets available online, which children and parents can download and play along with each episode.
The news caps off a good period for Clickety Books, who recently won the 2011 Talking Tots Award for developing pre-literacy skills.
Anne Ayre, director of Clickety Books, said: 'We welcome this opportunity to team up with Fun Kids radio to build on the successful books and CDs we've published.
'Being able to communicate effectively is essential for every child's well-being, and their ability to learn.
'A child's vocabulary at age five is one of the best predictors of success at GCSE so our joint mission is to make the challenge of developing speech and language skills fun.'
The episodes are part of a mix of music, stories and competitions for the whole family on the station, which is available everyday online at funkidslive.com or on the Radioplayer at http://www.radioplayer.co.uk">www.radioplayer.co.uk
There are currently 18 episodes scheduled, and they will air at 11am daily from Monday April 16.
