SOUTH Tawton Garden Club will be meeting for the first time under its new name, North Dartmoor Garden Club, next Thursday.
The club was formed in the 1980s and its inaugural meeting was held in South Tawton's church hall. However, it soon became apparent that, due to the group's popularity, meetings would have to be held in a larger premises.
Since then the group has met in Sticklepath and, most recently, Belstone Village Hall with membership being drawn from across Dartmoor.
As a result of this the group decided at their last annual meeting to change its name to North Dartmoor Garden Club.
The meeting on September 25 will see a presentation from Alan French, best known for his Saturday morning stall in Fore Street, Okehampton, on container gardening.
Mr French's talk will focus on how colour and interest can be maintained in pots, tubs and window boxes throughout the seasons.
The meeting starts at 7.30pm in Belstone village hall and all are welcome to attend.
