KIND-hearted donations from firms and people in Okehampton has ensured that the Ockment Centre’s new kitchen looks fantastic.

Howdens Joinery Co designed the kitchen and donated around £1,000 of kitchen units to the centre.

Howden’s Sam Bussey recently visited the centre to chat to staff and ensure they were happy with the kitchen.

The Ockment Centre team expressed its delight at the newly refurbished Dartmoor room — the room by the reception area that used to house its computer suite. The room has been transformed into a flexible, bright space with comfortable seating and the new modern kitchen space.

The team at the centre expressed thanks to Advice West Devon and Dorset, Devon and Cornwall CRC for contributions towards the cost, Wayne Middleton and Ian Bending for their expertise and hard work fitting the kitchen, Terry Hopkins for his hard work in demolishing the old framework and fixing new covering, Jon Brealey for hard work in demolishing the old frame work and Edwin Passmore for the free loan and assembly of a scaffold tower.
