OKEHAMPTON Camera Club has chosen Rex Haythornthwaite as the winner of its first ever projected image photographer of the year competition.

Rex won the prize at the club's last meeting on November 28. Among his images were photographs of Rafael Nadal and Robin Soderling playing at the Wimbledon tennis championships, Bishop Rock Lighthouse off the Isles of Scilly and the Oslo Opera House.

The club will host a print display by the Proteus photographic group in their last meeting of 2011 on Monday December 12.

The meeting starts at 7.30pm in the Church Hall on Market Street. Prospective members are welcome.
